NFL 2025 Week 6 Thursday Night Football Preview: G-Men Host the Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles (4-1) at NY Giants (1-4)

The Giants will host the Eagles tomorrow night, in a battle of NFC East teams.

In recent seasons, this rivalry has been pretty one-sided in favor of the Eagles. Other than a largely meaningless win very late in the season (it may even have been the final week of the season) a couple of years or so ago, the Giants have not managed a win over Philly in a long, long time. Much like the Cowboys, the Eagles have completely dominated Big Blue in recent years.

Frankly, despite being a Giants fan, I just do not see much of any reason why that trend would suddenly change for this game. Other than a single game against the Cowboys (also a loss) in which they managed to score 37 points, the G-Men have scored a total of 50 points in the other four games. So they have hardly exactly been lighting up the scoreboard.

Plus, the Eagles are coming off their first loss of the season, one in which they seemed destined to win, owning a 17-3 lead fairly late and then blowing it. They were previously undefeated, and so will feel the urgency of getting back to their winning ways and making sure that the loss stands alone.

So even though I am tired, frankly, of picking against my favorite team, it just seems to me that the Eagles should find a way to win this one.

My pick: Philadelphia
