No Kings Day, Version 2.0 - Saturday, October 18, 2025

There was another "No Kings" nationwide protest yesterday.

Heading into it, Republicans like Speaker Mike Johnson had dismissively insisted that this would pretty much be a "Hate America" rally. But Republicans were pretty much silent on this day, as millions poured into streets all across the United States to insist that here in this country, we really are supposed to have no kings. Pictures and photographs showed peaceful protesters, which included little kids and law-abiding citizens. New York City Police officially put the numbers there at over 100,000, with zero arrests.

Not exactly the wild and unruly terrorists that MAGA morons had insisted that these No Kings protests would have been filled with, eh?

I might have joined personally, except that my work schedule simply did not allow it.

These are the kinds of new headlines which give me a little bit of hope that the old version of this country which I grew up in and knew still exists. The one where some measure of decency still exists, despite the narcissism of our elitist leaders with their lies and their false and frankly outrageous sense of entitlement is buttressed by the equally stupid and somewhat narcissistic, highly idealized to the point of mythicism version of "the truth" which MAGA morons mindlessly support.

By any measure, these protests were a success.

Republicans still tried to do everything that they could to try and silence and marginaize the power of millions of people - I heard estimate that this was the single largest protest in history, and I am not sure that it wasn't - pouring into the streets means. Here is one response, which is probably typical among MAGA:

Responding to NPR's questions about the protests, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said: "Who cares?"

To which I respond, personally, by borrowing my own version of what the charming Abigail Jackson said.

If and when asked what do Republicans like Abigail Jackson or Mike Johnson or JD Vance or King Con Don think about "No Kings" success, twice over now?

Who cares? What does it matter what they have to say, anyway?

Release the Epstein Files!

To hell with MAGA already. They have been discredited time and time again, at least with anyone with an ounce of intelligence and integrity. Enough with them controlling the narrative. Indeed, frankly, who fucking cares what they have to say anymore, about anything?

Below are the links to the articles which I used in writing this particular blog entry, and which further  document the protests yesterday, including pictures. And below those are some pictures from a couple of Facebook sources which showed the extent of the protests, and their generally successful nature yesterday. Take a look:

The Other 98% nodtSopesrmu6m 4 i90u4u55u24310tamh3360782m85if7899ul h 9hhhlt65  · The No Kings 2.0 march drew an enormous turnout today, with nearly seven million Americans taking part across the country. That is about two million more than the first one, a clear signal that the momentum is building as people are getting fed up with trump’s slumpenomics, his draconian deportation program, and sending our own military into our cities to police American citizens. And this movement will grow every day that this sniveling loser of a man tries to anoint himself America’s new king.
Speaker Mike Johnson tried to dismiss the event, calling it a “hate America rally,” but he couldn’t be more wrong. The crowds were filled with regular people who work hard, pay taxes, and genuinely love their country as much as they hate what trump is doing to our country. Personally, I was in Oakland and it was as awesome as it was therapeutic to be around a bunch of people who feel the same way I do about this administration.
In Washington DC alone, the turnout was a staggering 200,000 people. That’s twice as many people as attended Trump’s second inauguration if anyone happens to be keeping score. The day remained entirely peaceful, despite Republicans spending all week painting it as a hot bed for “pro-hamas and radical left violent extremism” but there was no violence today. There was no unrest. Just actual American citizen exercising their first amendment rights, but I guess that is something today’s maga movement can’t understand. Today was empowering, and hopefully this will build to something bigger! Keep on. You are not alone. There are millions of us.
