Republican Strategist Believes That Trump Feels His Tweets Can Override the Law

We all know that Trump seems to take his tweeting addiction too far. But there is one man - a Republican strategist, no less - who feels that Trump seems to believe that his tweets will effectively make any and every case against him basically go away.

Rick Wilson is an anti-Trump Republican strategist Rick Wilson, and he recently reflected on the tweet the president sent on Friday in response to the findings by the Mueller investigation, which stated: “Totally clears the president. Thank you.”

Except, of course, it did not. For the first time, Trump was basically charged with personally directing his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, into breaking the law. Here was part of the case laid out against "Individual One (who everyone agrees is Trump himself):

“During the campaign, Cohen played a central role in two similar schemes to purchase the rights to stories- each from women who claimed to have had an affair with Individual 1- so as to suppress the stories and thereby prevent them from influencing the election,” prosecutors wrote.

Trump of course took to Twitter after that, in a storm of angry tweets that betrayed his anger. Here was one of the more infamous tweets that he sent:

“AFTER TWO YEARS AND MILLIONS OF PAGES OF DOCUMENTS (and a cost of over $30,000,000), NO COLLUSION!”

Suffice to say, Trump greatly exaggerated both the cost of the Mueller investigation, while quickly clearing himself by distorting what Mueller's findings revealed to date.

The article added that, contrary to Trump's allegations:

The Mueller investigation which began in May 2017, less than two years ago, has cost around $27 million, according to The Politifact website.

Wilson looked at many of the tweets that came out after Trump was essentially accused unofficially of wrongdoing, and gauged what we could understand from Trump's responses. Here is some of what Wilson said:

“This is a guy who clearly spent the day in a growing state of anxiety and rage. I mean this morning was some classic rage tweeting. And you’ve got to imagine they were trying to beat the door of the john down trying to get the guy out so he’d stop tweeting this morning.”

“This is not a well man, Don.  “This is a guy who honestly believes that he can change the fabric of reality and make the law go away by tweeting at it.”

Here is the article I used in writing this blog entry about Trump and his tweeting after the latest findings revealed by the Mueller investigation:
