N.Y. Jets 34, N.Y. Giants 27

Leave it to the Giants to make the dismal Jets look like a serious playoff contender.

Yes, despite Gang Green entering this game with one of the league's worst records at 1-7, and with their offensive woes seemingly bordering on becoming the stuff of legend, the Jets were able to move the ball efficiently up and down the field against the pitiful defense of the G-Men, who seem to give up big play after big play week in and week out.

Sam Darnold completed 19 of 30 passes for 230 yards and one touchdown. Demaryius Thomas was his favorite target, with six catches for 84 yards. Running back Le'Veon Bell did not have a great game statistically, picking up 34 yards on 18 carries, as the Giants defense pretty well plugged him up. Yet, he managed to score the deciding touchdown that helped to lift the Jets to victory today. Overall, the Jets produced 294 yards of total offense. That might not rank among the elite teams in the league, but it was better than what the Giants managed, and was good enough to help secure the win.

In a losing cause for the Giants, Daniel Jones nonetheless played extremely well, as he completed 26 of 40 passes for 308 yards and four touchdowns. An impressive 10 of those passes went to Darius Slayton, which was good for 121 yards and two touchdowns.

The two teams were fairly even statistically, with the Jets holding slight edges in time of possession,  and total yards and first downs gained. But the most decisive advantage favoring the Jets - and which probably proved critical towards the end - were the turnovers. The Giants committed two turnovers, while Gang Green managed to avoid them altogether.

With the win, the Jets earn their second victory of the season to improve to 2-7. The Giants, meanwhile, lose their sixth straight game to fall to 2-8.

My pick: Inaccurate
