Brest - Paris Saint-Germain (1 - 2)

PSG resumed Ligue 1 play this weekend against Brest. PSG was comfortably ahead in the standings, although they were nonetheless trying to recover from a stunning upset loss last weekend to Dijon.

Argentinian Ángel Fabián Di María opened the scoring with a goal in the 39th minute, which gave PSG the 1-0 lead. They took that into the lockers for halftime.

In the second half, Brest managed to respond with a goal by Samuel Grandsir in the 72nd minute to tie the game up at 1-1.

However, PSG was not done yet, either. Needing to avoid two straight disappointing results, they sought a goal for the win, and they eventually got it.

Mauro Icardi scored the game's decisive goal in the 85th minute,  giving PSG the lead very late. They were able to hold on for the win.

PSG managed to hang onto the ball for over 60 percent of the game, and were efficient in their passing. They also had double the number of shots on goal as Brest did, with 8 shots on goal, compared to only 4 by Brest.

With the win, PSG remains well ahead in Ligue 1 standings, with 30 points earned thus far in the 13 Ligue 1 games that they have played. They are eight points ahead of second place Olympique Marseille.
