Hillary Clinton Still as Petty & Vindictive as Ever

Back in 2016, the Democratic primary sometimes felt like a return to the high school days. Everyone seemed to need to make way for the popular girl, who wanted to be crown queen of the prom. Everyone, that is, except a conscientious kid who did not but into this notion, of course. And the entitled popular girl could not stand it.

Hillary Clinton seemed to take this whole thing way too far. She asked the Democratic leadership for help, which was illegal. Then they gave it to her, which was also illegal. She tried to flood the primary with money from her wealthy donors, particularly the big banks of Wall Street. Indeed, she treated the whole thing as if it indeed were a high school popularity contest. She insulted anyone who could not bring themselves to support her candidacy, which was consistent with the idea that she had that only losers living in their parent's basement could possibly like Bernie Sanders.

What a way to win opposition votes. She even suggested that she did not need those votes, although her tune would change dramatically after the fact, when she lost to Trump in the general election. After that, of course, she blamed Bernie and his supporters for her loss, suggesting that they had not supported her enough. Bernie had gone out on the campaign trail to help get her elected, even though she stole the primary from him, and insulted him afterward, to boot, betraying her false sense of entitlement.

Also consistent with this behavior was her dismissal of Trump supporters as a "basket of deplorables." Even her political allies wondered just what the hell she was doing and saying. First of all, you cannot dismiss a whole segment of the population like that. Secondly, if you are going to insult them, make it sound a bit...well, more real than a "basket of deplorables." Who the hell talks like that?

Well, Hillary has not learned anything since losing in 2016. She is on a major publicity tour right now, with a new documentary coming, and she is making headlines. The most recent had her, once again, insulting Bernie, because she just cannot reign in that legendary pettiness and, frankly, bitchiness. She said that "nobody likes" Bernie. She also refused to commit to endorsing him even if he wins the Democratic nomination for the White House.

Please, why can't the Clintons just retire quietly into the night, and not be heard from again? Why can't they take a hint and see when their old brand on Washington insider politics no longer is accepted or trusted by the public?

Political dinosaurs who should be regarded strictly as relics of the past. And not such a great past, at that.
