 Paris Saint-Germain - ESA Linas-Montlhery ( 6-0 )

In the Coupe de France (French Cup) play yesterday, Paris St-Germain rested most of their stars, yet still went on to easily crush sixth-tier ESA Linas-Montlhery, 6-0, at the Parc des Princes in Paris yesterday.

Despite many of their best players not starting, PSG was expected to cruise to victory convincingly, and that is what they did, even if it took a while for them to finally start scoring.

The scoring started in the 30th minute when 17-year-old midfielder Adil Aouchiche got the first goal for PSG. Edinson Cavani was able to notched a second goal in the 41st minute to give PSG a 2-0 lead by halftime. Then, he scored again in the 60th minute to give PSG a three-goal margin.

Later, Pablo Sarabia scored two goals in relatively quick success, in the 63rd and 69th minutes. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting closed out the scoring with a goal in the 87th minute to produce the final 6-0 margin of victory for PSG.

Overall, SG held onto the ball 74 percent of the time, and had 28 to 8 shots on goal, while limiting ESA Linas-Montlhery to just 8. 16 shots were on target for PSG, to just 3 for ESA Linas Montlhery.

In truth, the visiting team did not seem overly crushed, as they did not have any realistic hopes of pulling off a stunning win. Linas-Montlhery coach Stephane Cabrelli is even a PSG season-ticket holder.

"I am 52 years old; I have been going to the Parc des Princes since I was six," Cabrelli said.

His team take their name from Linas and Montlhery, neighbouring towns in the southern outskirts of Paris that have a combined population of just 7,000.
