If they win, he wants all the credit. If they lose, he gets none of the blame.
Is this really the man that Americans put in the White House? A man child who betrays his immaturity with almost every word he utters?
Apparently, the GOP and other conservatives may finally be having some second thoughts, this time around. They now see the ruins of his grandiose promises - promises that he never actually follows up on.
Knowing Trump's penchant for past dictators, I think that he took one quote by a dictator perhaps a little too seriously. Here is one quote from a very famous dictator which, I believe, Trump firmly believes in and practices:
"If you wish to be a success in the world, promise everything, deliver nothing."

And Republicans are beginning to see that, in fact, Trump really has delivered nothing. Yes, Trump won the 2016 presidential election, but could he have won if the Democrats did not themselves shoot themselves in the foot with a candidate quite as mediocre as Hillary Clinton? And did Trump deliver on his campaign promises to reform healthcare and make it affordable and available to everyone? Or to pay the national debt within eight years? Or to build that wall? Or to command respect for the United States all around the world? Or even not to have time to play golf?
Since then, Trump has continued to promise and promise, now promising election wins. But the GOP lost in 2018, lost in 2020, and now lost again in 2022. Are they only now seeing that this guy is...well, a loser?
Still, again, I have my doubts about just how serious this latest Republican awakening from the Trump nightmare really is. Hopefully I'm wrong. But let's see.
