CFL 2025 Playoff Review: Division Semifinal Weekend

Grey Cup/Coupe Grey

Division Semifinal Weekend Review:

Montréal Alouettes 42,  Winnipeg Blue Bombers 33

For the first time in many years, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will not be playing in the Grey Cup this year. Montréal jumped out to a 17-0 1st quarter lead, then hung on as Winnipeg tried to battle back. The Blue Bombers were able to make it relatively close and certainly respectable. However, the Alouettes proved just a little too much in the end. The Alouettes survive the most experienced CFL team in these playoffs to earn a spot in next weekend's Eastern Final at Hamilton, to see who represents the East in this year's Grey Cup.

My pick: Accurate

British Columbia Lions 33, Calgary Stampeders 30

In a fairly even, back and forth struggle, British Columbia managed to outlast the Calgary Stampeders in this one to punch their ticket to the Western Final next weekend. They had a fairly sizable advantage in the second quarter, although this game was never really lopsided for either team at any point. The Stampeders made it competitive, but just did not have quite enough to get past the Lions. British Columbia now advances and will travel to Regina to face the Saskatchewan Rough Riders in next weekend's final.

My pick: Accurate
