NY Jets at Baltimore - The Jets have played a bit better in recent weeks. But this one feels simply like too tall of an order for Gang Green. A road game against the red hot Ravens is probably too much for the vast majority of teams out there, but the Jets simply will likely be overwhelmed. My pick: Baltimore
NY Giants at Detroit - I have said this before, but it bears repeating: the Giants just cannot catch a break. Having heard that they had one of the toughest schedules of any team this season, it is easy to believe it seeing them have to line up against winning teams week after week after week. It feels like the G-Men are improving and that their record should reflect this. Yet when you have to play one tough team after another, without any seeming end, the record simply will not reflect the improvements. Figure that Big Blue might play well today, might continue to show improvements, and still fall short in a tough game in the Motor City. My pick: Detroit
Minnesota at Green Bay - The Pack will be back at Lambeau, hosting the Vikings. If Minnesota is not yet officially eliminated from playoff contention, it feels like it is just a matter of time now. Look for the Packers to stay hot and on pace with Chicago. My pick: Green Bay
Indianapolis at Kansas City - I am glad that the Chiefs will likely not win the AFC West title yet again this season. However, it feels very likely that they will qualify for the postseason. The Colts are one of the hottest teams thus far this season, but they feel suspect. My prediction is that we find out why not everyone is a convert regarding Indy in this game. My pick: Kansas City
Pittsburgh at Chicago - The Steelers are trying to hang onto first place in the AFC North. However, they feel a little unstable at the moment. Vulnerable. Then again, so do Da Bears, who also are clinging to a narrow lead for first place in their division. This is a crucial game for both teams, but only one team can come out on top. My pick: Chicago
Seattle at Tennessee - The Seahawks are a greatly improved team. A narrow loss last week at the Rams in Los Angeles likely has this team feeling more confident, and they probably feel that they can actually win the NFC West. But they need games like this one, which are winnable for them. My prediction is that they go out and take this one. My pick: Seattle
New England at Cincinnati - The Pats remain hot, and keep winning. Buffalo is solid, yet they just cannot keep pace with the Pats, who just keep winning and winning. Hard to imagine that the lowly Bengals will snap New England's hot streak, although stranger things can and have happened. Still, it's difficult to see how Cincy can win this one. My pick: New England
Jacksonville at Arizona - The Jaguars need this kind of a game. They do not feel consistent enough to be a sure thing for the postseason. Yet they are in position to make a run. The Cardinals have all sorts of problems and will not qualify for the playoffs. They could play spoiler, but I suspect that the Jaguars are up for this game. My pick: Jax
Cleveland at Las Vegas - Both teams have to be looking at this game as a rare opportunity to actually win. But I suspect (for some reason) that the Brownies are a little bit better than the Silver & Black, and will show it today in this one. My pick: Cleveland
Atlanta at New Orleans - Both of these teams have been consistent, at least in terms of losing far more than they win this season. So this game likely will not generate much excitement. Still, the Falcons are the better team, and so they should be able to pull off the win. My pick: Atlanta
Dallas at Philadelphia - What a game this one should be. Philly remains one of the hottest and most impressive teams in the league, even if they seem to just barely win week after week. My prediction here is that they continue that trend and eke out against a tough challenge from the visiting Cowboys. My pick: Philly
Sunday Night Football: Tampa Bay at LA Rams - This would have seemed like a feature match, and possibly a preview of the NFC title game just weeks ago. It still could be, although the Bucs have cooled significantly in recent weeks. They have dropped three of their last four. After a tough road trip to Los Angeles against the Rams, I suspect it will extend to four of their last five as losses. My pick LA Rams
Monday Night Football: Carolina at San Francisco - Carolina is an improved team and hopes to win this one. But the 49ers are an elite team trying to get back to the big game. They are still very much relevant in the NFC West race, and should be able to exploit the Panthers enough to win this one. My pick: San Francisco
