A Glimpse of Norway's Spectacular Wilderness From Above

While flying out of Oslo towards Newark yesterday,  we caught a glimpse of some of the fjords and snow-capped mountains that Norway is so famous for.

Obviously, these pictures are not exactly top quality. We were not at ground level, and the scenery, while spectacular, was nevertheless taken from very high up (not at a low altitude, but from very, very up high and, at that, from a tiny airline window, to boot. So again, I am not pretending that these are top quality works of photography.

Still, I thought they might be worth sharing here, because some of them in particular revealed some spectacular wilderness, with glaciers and jagged mountains and such. Also, I added some of the Norwegian countryside that we passed on the train ride, as well as some of the windmills in the North Sea, most of which belong to Denmark, I heard some time ago. These evidently are a big deal, because it also means (somehow) that some of these waters are more or less under control of the Danish, as well as the electricity that these things generate. It was a fascinating story when I heard about it (maybe I should do some research and post about it here).

Anyway, for what it is worth, here are the pictures. Keep in mind that all of these were taken from fast moving transport machines, which goes some way towards explaining the not so great quality of at least some of the pictures.

Nevertheless, enjoy!
