As a kid, this was one of the specific episodes of a show that I can actually remember.
To me, it was powerful and morbidly fascinating. There are these nagging reminders of the craziness of the world that we were (and still are) living in, particularly the nuclear threat. The woman, who typifies both a housewife of the time, as well as the apolitical spirit that was prevalent during the eighties, manages to freeze the world somehow, at least briefly, although she is bound to have to unfreeze time at some point or other.
Well, the ending shocked me at the time. I remember seeing and hearing the sudden escalation to a nuclear war, and the sudden and inevitable outbreak of a nuclear war. She pauses time, just before the nuclear holocaust begins.
This was from back in 1985: Season 1 Episode 1 Part 2 - "A Little Peace and Quiet."
What an episode! It was fun to watch this one after all of these years.
Enjoy!
