And why not? Up until now, Trump has just kept getting away with things, and never seems to have to face any kind of ramifications for his criminality.
But just lately, things have been going badly for Trump. His handpicked candidates for Senate keep losing elections. The last one lost in a very high profile race just last night. I don't precisely remember who referred to these "candidates" as cartoon characters - people like Dr. Oz, or Kari Lake, or Herschel Walker, or of course Trump himself - but it does indeed feel like they are caricatures. Walker just lost the run-off election to Warnock, and conceded the race.
And that came after the Trump Organization was found guilty on all 17 counts in New York state.
Things are not going well for Trump. And maybe, just maybe, this is a sign of things to come. We can at least hope that he gets what he deserves, which is sooooo long overdue.
