The Paris 2024 Olympic games are coming to a close later today.
It has been enjoyable. I can honestly say that I watched far more of these games than I remember ever having done before. That included getting more acclimated with some sports which are hardly ever on television, and which I personally rarely, if ever, remember watching before.
One of those included synchronized swimming. Watching that event this time seemed far more interesting than it ever had before. It was difficult to imagine how those swimmers could hold their breath underwater for so long, or how many endless hours of practicing routines it must have taken for them to get their synchronized movements to be just so.
It was impressive.
Below is a video of what synchronized swimming looks like underwater, and turned upside down, so as to make it appear that they are walking (and sometimes sinking) on water.
