Despite the fact that it famously became a free concert for tens of thousands of people who flocked to the Woodstock Music Festival, the performers were actually paid.
Ran into this a few years ago, and saw it pop up again on my Facebook Memories page.
So it seemed worth sharing here, as a bit of history, and to honor the original Woodstock, which was still going strong on this day back in 1969.
