This was a follow-up to a blog entry that I posted last month.
Argentina's national team issued an apology to France after engaging in a chant mocking France, with serious racist overtones.
Glad that they apologized. But it feels like it still tarnished their recent championships. They deserve to be remembered for their idiotic and, frankly, immature behavior as much as for their impressive athletic achievements. Frankly, they should have been smart enough to know better.
Still, at least they did apologize, and hopefully learned a lesson in humility. Most importantly, hopefully they don't do something so obviously stupid and classless like that again.
Let's see.
And might as well say it again: what a bunch of jackasses. Mindblowingly stupid.
