Sometimes, I have quotes specific to these times regarding the Trump regime and it's blatant corruption, stupidity, and fascist tendencies.
At other times, however, some quotes which are a bit farther removed from the specifics of our time, a bit more on the philosophical side, feel particularly poignant and timely.
Today, there are two quotes which I wanted to share in that spirit. The first is one which I heard or read some years ago, probably during the first Trump term. It is something which I kept remembering, and which feels true of these times and who is presently in charge and, indeed, casting large shadows.
The second quote is also general, although it feels like it could describe our present age, specifically.

During his time, he was known to be a strong and effective advocate for free trade, private property, and limited government, something which people who identify themselves as conservatives in this day and age likely could appreciate.
