Today was Jamaican Independence Day.
Indeed, this day marks the anniversary of Jamaican independence from British rule, which came to fruition in 1962. That marked the end of 300 years of British rule. This was achieved through the Jamaica Independence Act of 1962, and is one of the major public holidays for Jamaica.
It seemed appropriate to honor this occasion and recognize Jamaica's Independence Day.
