In Recent Video, Lucas Bean Suggests That MAGA Never Outs Trump Because They Themselves Are Guilty

This was an interesting video by Lucas Bean regarding the psychology of MAGA voters. He shows little sympathy with MAGA people, especially those who claim to be victims of the same Trump whom they voted for several times now. And he explains in this video how MAGA actually is guilty themselves of empowering Trump not because they believed that he would make a great president, but for a much darker reason.

First, he gives us some background.

In 2016 Maria Konkova Columbia University studied how con artists manipulate victims.

It's probably not what you think.

First of all, the people being conned are not innocent. Con artists do not force you to actually do anything. Rather, they make you complicit in your own crime. The money that you give to them is entirely voluntary, not forced at all. Konkova called this the "confidence game."

This scam works when the "victim" wants something that they should not want. Perhaps it is a shortcut or an unfair advantage. In short, something that they know deep down is either not real or not entirely legal, or perhaps both. It's not the con artist who creates this desire. Rather, the con artist merely exploits it, builds a story which the "victim" actually wants to hear and believe. Then the con artist uses this desire for their own advantage.

That is why con artists are rarely called out. Admitting the con also means admitting what they actually pursuing.

In the case of MAGA, Lucan Bean says, Trump did not trick innocent people. Rather, he found people who wanted the ability to be racist in public and to pass this off as common sense. To be given permission to be cruel and be convinced that this cruelty was actually strength. People who wanted someone else to blame for their own shortcomings and to make it seem like all of this was simply politics.

Trump did not sell them a lie that they did not want, but rather, he sold them a story that they already largely believed. Trump just "said it out loud in front of everyone," Bean said.

And here's the kicker: this is both why con artists like Trump are rarely ever called out, and also why the victims will remain loyal to Trump right to the end. Because, Bean explains:

"The victim can't expose the con artist without exposing themselves. Trump supporters can't admit they were conned because admitting they were conned means admitting what they were shopping for. They weren't shopping for a president. They were shopping for permission to say and do the most horrible things in public. And they got it."

"That's why they'll never admit they were wrong and never take accountability. that's why they'll never turn on him. Not just because they're loyal, but because they'd have to confess what they wanted from him in the first place: permission to hate. Permission to be awful people in public with no accountability. And they're too weak to ever admit to that. Because they prey on guilty people, not innocent ones."

Sounds like something which makes sense to me.
