Canada’s Boycott of American Consumer Products is Stripping Away the National Delusions Held By Far Too Many Americans

Ran into this video last night, and it proved fascinating. 

Not really sure who this guy, the "Large Man Abroad," is. But I will surely be checkin gout more of his videos now after watching this one.

Here, he discusses how many Americans feel quite conveniently distant from world affairs, and the detrimental, even devastating role that the United States has played in world affairs.

Here's a snippet of what he says:

"We act as though not paying attention makes us innocent."

This is how we can walk away from something as horrific as Iraq, and the lies regarding WMD's that justified the invasion, without it collectively bothering us Americans much at all. Again, the Large Man Abroad states how Iraq, an ancient mistake from a lifetime ago, is a closed chapter in the collective American mindset.

Obviously, that is not the case for the rest of the world, which sees the damage that we do far more clearly and objectively than we tend to do as a nation. 

Now, that's incisive.

And it's finally being challenged, he suggests, by a country as peaceful and unassuming as Canada basically turning against us. As the rest of the world is doing, for that matter. All based on our actions, and the man we chose to be our elected face and voice - twice now! We cannot divorce ourselves for responsibility for all of this.
