Stephen Hawking Had Some Ideas For Preventing an AI Apocalypse - Although Some People Surely Wouldn't Like It

Here is another blog entry about Stephen Hawking which I was sitting on for quite some time.

Not sure why these were never published. Think that I meant to work on them at the time. But guess that it became a backburner thing, and then it just was forgotten.

Well, AI is all over the news and social media these days. And there are predictable and understandable misgivings that people have over the issue.

Hawking, of course, was well ahead of his time. And he felt that he just might have a solution to the whole AI dilemma.

In short, he figured that some kind of international governing body would be required to regulate AI. Of course, this world  - and the United States in particular - has no shortage of conspiracy theorists who would yell and scream and foam at the mouth at the very idea of any kind of world governing body, likely believing that to be an even worse evil than AI ever could be.

Sigh.

Nevertheless, it felt worth sharing.
