Earlier today, I posted a review of a book by Stephen Hawking, as well as an article in which he predicted that humanity might have under 600 years to figure out a way off of Earth before we destroy it, essentially.
Yes, he believed that we were on our way towards destroying the Earth.
Think about that. One of the world's smartest people in history was basically warning us that we were headed towards disaster on an apocalyptic scale. That we in essence were heading towards the end of our world as a livable planet, and that this was all our own doing.
I know it's not a cheery subject. In fact, it's really depressing. Still, I believe that we really need to pay attention to things like this.
