Putin held a Trump-style rally in a football (European, not American football, that is) stadium yesterday. It was packed with Russians waving the flag and showing visible signs of patriotism.
In the speech, Putin praised the Russian military effort in Ukraine, and said that they were fighting bravely, taking care of one another. He said that they were heroes.
One thing that is being widely reported is that the speech was cut short. Some are suggesting that Putin somehow or other got hurt, and limped away from the podium in the middle of the field. I saw the video of him walking away after his speech, and it was not overly obvious that he was limping away. It seemed like overly convenient exaggerations, at best.
