Yet another music legend who I at least grew up in part listening to has died.
Taylor Hawkins, the drummer for the legendary rock band Foo Fighters, has died. He was just 50 years old.
Hawkins had been the drummer for the Foo Fighters for 25 years, or basically half of his life. He had been the drummer for Alanis Morrissette prior to joining the Foo Fighters in 1997. He was one of the most famous faces for the band, perhaps the most instantly recognizable and well-known outside of Dave Grohl himself.
The Foo Fighters released a statement about this loss:
“His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever,” said a message on the band’s official Twitter account that was also emailed to reporters. “Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family.”
Hawkins is survived by his wife, Alison, and the three children that they had together.
RIP, Taylor Hawkins.
