January 6th Hearings Painted Trump as Pathetic, Irresponsible, Needy, and Clearly & Stunningly Unfit For the Office He Held

Not a huge fan of CNN, but this was interesting. This panel discusses the reaction by Donald Trump on January 6th. One woman says that he grows smaller and smaller as you watch him, which is something that I felt was true of Trump from the first time I ever saw and heard of him. He truly is a pathetic, needy human being on such a staggering level, that it is almost shocking just how pathetically needy this man is. He is literally like a child, and everyone knows it.

It seems clear that Trump knew the power and influence that he wields over his MAGA crowd. He seems to have excellent instincts, also, with just how far he can go, exactly what he can say, without outright crossing clear lines, at least again among his own crowd, and in a strict legal sense. I mean, this guy was the first president who many worried might go so far as to pardon himself.

Everyone around him on January 6th was urging him to take action, to call in the National Guard. He did nothing, and outwardly showed signs of pulling for his violent supporters to succeed in subverting democracy and stopping American democracy from functioning. He wanted to remain in office by claiming that the 2020 election was stolen from him, even though he had months and dozens of court cases to work with to try and prove something - anything - in the way of the massive voter fraud that he and his team were arguing to the nation. They lost trial after trial, and they lost recount after recount. After watching all of this unfold, it becomes clear that Trump himself is, in fact, a big stinking loser, all the more because he clearly cannot handle it like a grown man. Remember, this man is well over 70 years old. Yet, everybody understands that he remains a spoiled brat, an overgrown child who refused to grow up now for quite literally seven plus decades. He was a master con artist, and he duped enough people to drag the nation into his personal failures. And he was willing to undermine American democracy itself, and actively tried to throw the country into turmoil and possible civil war, in order that he might stay in power. What a dark, dark chapter in American history.

All kidding and insults aside, Trump was clearly not fit to hold the office that he held. He literally poses the biggest and clearest single danger to what remains of our democracy by far that we have seen in a long, long time. A bigger threat to democracy than the Soviet Union ever was. A bigger threat to democracy than Islamic terrorists were. We need to recognize this and move on as a country, whether we remain divided or not. This man, specifically, was toxic for the nation.
