CFL 2022 Update: Winnipeg Wins Battle of Unbeatens

The two best teams in the CFL thus far this season - and quite possibly the two best teams in the league, period - met in a battle of undefeateds yesterday. the 4-0 Calgary Stampeders visited the defending Grey Cup Champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

For once, a big showdown lived up to the billing. Quite possibly, it exceeded it.

It was a back and forth contest, with swings of momentum. A very entertaining game at that, with both teams showing both talent and heart. There were some spectacular plays, right to the end of the fourth quarter, with what seemed like a beautiful touchdown pass that wound up bouncing out of the hands of the receiver - who again, appeared to have caught an unbelievable touchdown pass - and instead, wound up bouncing up and right into the arms of a waiting defender for the interception that clinched the win for Winnipeg.

Ball game.

Again, though, this was a fantastic game. Both teams really showed why they were still undefeated entering this game. A fun game, to be sure.

But Winnipeg is the team that ultimately stays unbeaten, as they improve to 6-0. The Calgary Stampeders, meanwhile, suffer their first loss of the season and fall to 4-1 on the year.

What a game!
