The first ever NFL game played in Australia, and only the second game of the new 2026 NFL season, took place last night (technically earlier today, Australian time).
I had predicted the Rams to win, but they instead were beaten down
Here is a review of last night's game:
San Francisco 27, LA Rams 7 at Melbourne, Australia - These two teams seemed to be mostly even through the first half. They went back and forth, with San Fran heading into the locker room at halftime with a 10-7 lead. However, the second half belonged to the 49ers. They broke it open with a touchdown early in the third quarter to take a sizable lead and simply never looked back. The Niners controlled the ball for nearly 34 minutes, producing 379 total yards, to just 290 for the Rams. Los Angeles committed two turnovers, to just one by San Francisco. The win allows the 49ers to remain even with the defending champion Seattle Seahawks, who beat the Patriots on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, the Rams start of this promising season with a loss. My pick: Inaccurate
