NFL Week 2's first game took place last night up in Buffalo.
Josh Allen was on fire again, especially in the first half, as the Bills beat the Detroit Lions in another shootout.
Let's take a closer look:

Whenever these two teams meet, you can bet that a lot of points will be scored.
So it was last night. By halftime, the Bills seemed to have the game under control at 27-10. Remember when that score used to be a common final score for an NFL game? And not a particularly low-scoring game, either. Now, it seems like that is more typically a halftime score. It feels like there are more points so far this season than any other season I can remember, although it is early and that trend might not necessarily continue. Let's hope defenses start to be more effective.
Detroit scored early in the second half to close to within 10 points, as they would do throughout the second half. However, it seemed that each time they managed to get within 10 points, Buffalo would come back and score an answering touchdown. The Bills finally iced it with a touchdown by running back James Cook late in the fourth quarter to ice the game, with less than three minutes to play. He had also produced a huge run moments earlier to set up the TD. That extended Buffalo's lead to 41-24.
Josh Allen made history, as he became the first player in NFL history to throw five touchdowns and run for four in his first two games of the season. Clearly it's early, but already he seems to be trying to make a case for himself to win another NFL MVP award.
With this win, the Bills improve to 2-0 on the year. They have a longer time to prepare for their next game, when they host the Chargers on September 27th. After that, they head up to Foxboro to meet with last year's AFC East (and AFC overall) champion New England Patriots. So they have some big games coming up soon.
As for the Lions, they fall to 1-1 on the season. Their schedule looks a little more accommodating for a few weeks. They next host the Jets before heading down to Carolina to take on the Panthers, then visit the Cardinals in Arizona.
