Saw this cartoon last month, and thought that it was both disturbing, while also being quite telling and worth sharing here.
Really, this feels like a dark cartoon because it speaks the truth. Indeed, Trump has turned out to be a nightmare, both for the country as well as for the world. And while the numbers and enthusiasm finally seem to have diminished a little bit, there still exists tens of millions of MAGA supporters applauding all of this.
Nobody can say that there were not plenty of warnings. Indeed, there was no shortage of warnings.
Perhaps that was the problem. People seem to think that warnings like this are overdone. Trump knew that and used it to his advantage, making the case to those who wanted to be convinced that he was the victim of a conspiracy and a political witch hunt.
Then, he got in power and proved all of those warnings were accurate predictions of just how bad this Trump presidency would turn out to be.
Yet, some people still act shocked - Shocked! - that the Trump presidency has turned out to be quite this bad.
It's almost like putting a blatantly corrupt, transparently selfish and narcissistic man completely lacking any serious qualifications into our highest office was not a very good idea.
Who knew?
