In an effort to bring Canada closer to both the European Union in general, and to France in particular, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon. These tiny islands belong to France, although they are just 25 kilometres off the coast of Newfoundland in eastern Canada.
The two heads of state will meet at St. Pierre on Sunday, September 20th. They will engage in talks regarding aerospace, energy and critical minerals, as well as quantum satellites and supercomputing.
This will be the first ever visit to the islands by a sitting Canadian Prime Minister.
Should be interesting. Let's hope it's also productive for both sides.
