A few years ago, the Chinese economy passed the American economy as the one that has the biggest impact in the world. Some took that to mean that the Chinese economy is bigger than the American one, although that technically is not true yet, even if it is merely a matter of time.
Now, here is more news, also inevitable, about how China is in the process of passing the United States in terms of science and developing new technologies. There are reasons for this, and I would strongly recommend taking a look at the link to the article below to explore exactly why this is happening, as well as to ask ourselves as Americans why it is happening now, in particular.
To be fair, this likely was going to happen anyway. But with Trump cutting funding to much needed scientific research, the symbolism of how it is happening now should not be lost on Americans.
Yet somehow, I have a feeling that this will be lost on those who need to listen to this the most, and that they will see in it either fake news, or some twisted and misguided notion of some evil plot to bring down America's economy, similar to some other harebrained notions that the current president keeps insisting is true.
