It was always fascinating to me, how so many different creatures could evolve into such vastly different lifeforms.
Among the most fascinating would be some sea creatures, and octopus and squid are particularly fascinating. These are such bizarre creatures. I saw a video some time ago of a huge octopus managing to escape captivity on a ship by squeezing through a tiny hole, and reaching the sea or ocean water once again. Here is a clip of that video:
Strange, right?
Plus, of course, they have eight arms or legs, all with tentacles. Despite this rather bizarre ability to squeeze into tiny places, those arms apparently have some strength to them, as well, which would not be immediately obvious if you simply looked at the video above.
Well, as it turns out, they have origins in the evolutionary chain that stands out as quite bizarre, as well. The science is mostly beyond me, although the idea was undeniably fascinating!
