With their backs up against the walls, the Golden State Warriors came out swinging last night in Boston for Game 4. The Warriors earned a needed 107-97 road win in Boston to even the NBA Finals series up at 2-2 after four games. With this win on the road, the Warriors were able to earn back home court advantage, as they will next host Game 5 and, if it comes to it, will also host the deciding finale in Game 7, should this series go the distance.
Golden State star Steph Curry scored 43 points and nabbed 10 rebounds, leading his team to the important victory on the road. Indeed, the Warriors responded to the tight situation that they were in by showing exactly how they are benefitting from superior experience. This is the sixth NBA Finals series that this franchise has qualified for in the past eight seasons. They have won three NBA Championships during that stretch, and are seeking their fourth overall NBA title in this series.
To their credit, the Warriors have now responded to adversity twice in this series, winning when necessary in Game 2 after dropping the opening game, and now winning Game 4 after falling behind, 2-1, and being on the road. It now falls on the Boston Celtics to have to find a way to win at least one more game on the road in this series, if they hope to win their first NBA Championship since their historic 2008 title run.
Game 5 will be played at Golden State on Monday night.
