We almost passed this sign for Kansas.
It was just cornfields and cornfields and then, just like that, we passed out of Nebraska and into Kansas.
In fact, we did pass it. But I went back so that we could take these pictures.
Earlier in the day, it had been soggy and rainy, and there had even been some passing thunderstorms.
Now, it was relentlessly hot and with a piercing sun. The region was experiencing a record heat wave, and we passed through an area where the temperature was a scorching 108 degrees Fahrenheit. Had not experienced such hot temperatures since our trip through the Mojave Desert in 2016
Not many pictures taken from our time in Kansas, I'm afraid.
