Charles Barkley Claims That Golden State Warriors Cannot Win Title Without KD

"Anybody who thinks they're going to win the world championship without Kevin Durant, don't know anything about basketball."

- Charles Barkley

In a few hours, the Warriors will try to close out the Portland Trailblazers in the Western Conference Finals, and reach what would be their fifth straight NBA Finals.

That would be a historical achievement that has not been done in the NBA in decades.

But even if they do that, one legendary NBA player feels that they have no chance to win another title.

Yes, Charles Barkley, who was never known to be particularly reserved or quiet, said just a few days ago that anyone who thinks that Golden State can win without Kevin Durant (KD) knows nothing about basketball.

Interesting, because the Warriors have been playing better without Durant, although that is, admittedly, not a guarantee that they will continue on that level. But we should remember that they had made it to the first of two straight NBA Finals without him, and they won the first title. That second season, they went 73-9, the most successful regular season of any team in NBA history, starting off at a record 24-0 before dropping their first game. And they took a commanding 3 games to 1 lead against Cleveland, before a sudden and unexpected collapse prevented them from winning it all for a second straight year.

True, that was a few years ago now, but I hardly think it is beyond belief to imagine that the Warriors are capable of winning the title without Durant in the lineup.

Then again, I admittedly do not know as much about basketball as Sir Charles does. Even then, though, I like the Warriors to win it all, with or without KD.
