The show was great! I remembered the first time when we saw them, back in July of 1996 at MSG. So much has changed, yet they can still put on a great show. Sebast enjoyed it, and was kind of blown over by the idea of seeing a band as historically well-known as The Who.
I'm glad that you both enjoyed it. I haven't heard any of Roger Daltrey's recent (read: from the past two or three years) vocal performances on YouTube lately, so perhaps I'll do that this evening. Pete Townshend on the other hand remains a great guitarist. (My experience has been that people who've been playing their instruments for decades never lose that gift, but it's very different for singers, who as a general rule lose much of their vocal range and power once they reach a certain age.) Did they play "Getting in Tune" by any chance? That's a great Who track that I recently rediscovered, and to which I've been listening as of late.
P.S. Just listened to a couple tracks from the concert you saw, and I'd say Roger Daltrey's voice is actually holding up fairly well. While it obviously doesn't sound the same as it did 50 years ago (which is to be expected), he can more than hold his own and deliver a solid performance despite being in his mid-seventies now.
How did you guys enjoy the show? Tell Sébastien his uncle says hi.
