Trump Brand of "Winning" is Making America Lose in Almost Every Way

When Donald Trump was still only a candidate, and the prospects of him actually winning the White House seemed blessedly still laughable and remote, he kept promising these wild things, and suggesting almost that he was capable of working magic.

The one thing that he kept reiterating was that, under him, the United States would just keep winning and winning, to the point that Americans would eventually grow sick of all of that winning. It sounded like a joke, of course, because it was.

A cruel joke.

Since Trump has taken over, the reputation of the United States around the globe has dropped dramatically. Many around the world see the spike in hatred, and incidents involving Trump's own white supremacist leanings, as evidenced by his response to Charlottesville and his desire for a national registry of Muslims and his "shithole nations" comment, as proof of the rise of blatant, out in the open racism in the United States of the 21st century. The Pope looked visibly sick after meeting with Trump, and within hours of a meeting with European leaders, some of those same leaders publicly announced that they no longer felt that the United States was a reliable partner. Farmers have been hurt by the trade wars that Trump started with both allies and enemies alike, even though Trump had promised that trade wars would be easy to win.

Remember how Trump promised to "Make America Great Again" during the 2016 presidential campaign? He promised generally that the country's worlwide status and reputation would be restored once he was in charge, even though many of his plans lacked specifics. Yet, there were very specific promises that he made, all of which he claimed would go far in helping to "Make America Great Again." Among these were the following:

Trump had promised to not only build the wall, but to get Mexico to pay for it.

He failed to keep that promise.

Trump promised that he would create a wonderful healthcare system that would cover all Americans, and would lower costs, which are the highest in the world.

He lifted not one finger to create any kind of healthcare plan, and has instead supported action that has made Americans more vulnerable to less affordable and lower quality healthcare, and where we see prices increasing, not decreasing.

Trump promised to pay the national debt within eight years.

In his first two years, he raised the national debt by two trillion, mostly to pay for his tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.

Trump had promised to defeat ISIS within 30 days.

Recently admitted that they still existed.

Trump promised that he would have no time to play golf.

He has played golf virtually every single weekend.

Trump promised to release his taxes once elected.

He still has refused to do so.

Trump promised to divorce himself from his business interests in order to avoid conflicts of interest, something that should have been more closely tied to his whole emphasis on "draining the swamp."

Instead, we see conflicts of interest with this administration probably like no other in American history - and that is really saying something!

Trump claimed that the rest of the world was laughing at the United States and that it had lost respect, but he promised that once he was in power, the world would respect the United States again.

The reality is that the rest of the world sees Trump as the disgusting fraud that he really is. Leaders of the world literally laughed in Trump's face during an address at the United Nations, which FOX News, and Trump himself, later tried to redefine, and claim that they were laughing with him. Yet, he himself could not refrain from betraying his surprise, saying that the laughter was not the reaction that he had expected, as if he was at one of his pathetic political rallies. Numerous world leaders have looked visibly sickened when they had to deal with Trump and, again, it takes quite a lot for leaders of formerly allied European nations to publicly announce that they could no longer view the United States as a reliable partner. Yet, that is exactly what they did within hours of meeting with Trump. There are parades in numerous countries around the world with images portraying Trump in very unflattering manners. There was a balloon of Trump as a crying baby that flew over London during his visit there, and they are planning an even bigger baby Trump balloon. Trump is viewed as a joke in much of the rest of the world, but the only people who do not seem to get this at all are right here in the United States, among his staunch supporters. And they, in turn, are generally, and with some justification, regarded as clueless idiots.

When Trump was elected, he promised to be the president for all Americans.

Instead, he has actively fostered divisions unlike anything that we have seen, to the point that now, one third of Americans believe that a second civil war is likely. And below is a link revealing that the United States is the unhappiest that it has ever been.

Trump promised us that, once he was president, the United States would win, win, and win some more, to the point that we would get sick of it, and ask him to stop winning for the United States, which he would refuse to do.

Indeed, if this is his version of winning, most of us really do want it to stop, because his version of "winning" really is killing the United States.

Tired of all that winning?

I, for one, sure am.

Here are a couple of links revealing the extent of all of that "winning" that then candidate Donald Trump promised. This is his version of "winning" that he is now delivering:

The U.S. Is the Unhappiest It’s Ever Been

U.S. deficit grew 77% in first quarter of 2019
