Today, former Beatle Ringo Starr turned 84.
You might never know it by looking at him. Or, for that matter, by watching him literally run onto a stage, looking slim and energetic, like a man half his age, and possibly like a man one-third of his age. Perhaps that is why, in an article dating from last year, he claims to feel like he still feels 27, rather than a man well into his eighties. Indeed, he says that "nothing makes me feel old."
Wow. That from a man who had then turned 83, and now just turned 84.
Years ago, when asked what he wanted for his birthday, he responded by saying that he simply wanted everyone to pause at noon on his birthday, and simply say, "Peace and Love!"
That sounds good to me. Since then, I have tried to keep that tradition alive on my end. And in recognition of Ringo's birthday, let me do it again.
"Peace and love, Ringo! Peace and love."
Now last year, as I mentioned earlier, I added a link to a recent article in which Ringo said that he still felt like he was 27. This year, something a little bit different. Below is a link to an article showing how Beatles fans in Wisconsin are gathering together by Green Bay's legendary Lambeau Field to wish Ringo a "Peace and Love" birthday wish
Incredible.
