There are no undefeated teams left in the CFL.
Two teams had entered this past weekend in the CFL sporting unbeaten records. But the first to fall were the Alouettes of Montréal. They hosted the Toronto Argos, who managed to upset the defending CFL champions, 37-18. Montréal suffered their first defeat of the season, and now sport a 5-1 record. Meanwhile, Toronto improved to 3-2 on the year.
Saskatchewan had been the other undefeated team before this past weekend. They had a big test, when they traveled to British Columbia to face the 4-1 Lions. The Lions managed to produce a convincing and impressive 35-20 victory, as they improved to 5-1, and actually moving ahead of the now 4-1 Roughriders in the West.
In one of the other two games, Winnipeg produced their second straight win by outlasting the Calgary Stampeders, 41-37, in an entertaining and high-scoring shootout. Winnipeg had started the season by digging themselves in an 0-4 hole, but now improved to 2-4 on the season with this win. Meanwhile, Calgary fell to 2-3.
Finally, the Ottawa Redblacks continued their impressive turnaround season by just getting past the hosting Edmonton Elks on Sunday night. It was another shootout, which Ottawa won, 37-34. The Redblacks improved to 3-2 on the year, while Edmonton remains one of two winless teams in the CFL, falling to 0-5. They are tied with the also 0-5 Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who had a bye this past weekend, for the worst record in the league.
