Here is a spoof Onion article which I admittedly found hilarious.
Back in the 2017 NFL draft, the Chicago Bears maneuvered their way up to the second overall pick, hoping to draft their quarterback of the future, someone who could lead them back to glory days and championships. They got the man who they were looking for Mitch Trubisky. Several picks later, the Kansas City Chiefs drafted Patrick Mahomes.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but the results are obvious. Mahomes truly was the quarterback of the future for Kansas City, a team that just won the Super Bowl, and rank as the best team in the league.
As for the Bears? Well, Trubisky is long gone from the Chicago roster, and is now a journeyman quarterback. And this year, the Bears will not have to maneuver at all for a higher pick in the upcoming draft in their efforts to rebuild, since they "earned" the first pick as the worst overall team in the league last season.
