L'équipe de France Earns Most Lopsided Win in History

   

Earlier today, l'équipe de France played incredibly well in what proved to be the largest margin of victory m the history of the team. 

Yes, France defeated Gibraltar, 14-0, in a UEFA European Qualifiers match. The previous record for largest margin of victory by L'équipe de France had happened back in September of 1995, when France defeated Azerbaïjan, 10-0.

It was a historically dominant performance, and not just for Les bleus. According to an article on the game published earlier today in The Guardian (see link below):

The 14-0 win is the biggest victory in qualifying for the men’s European Championship, eclipsing Germany’s 13-0 rout of San Marino in 2006.

In the process,  there were numerous highlights. Marcus Thuram, the son of former French footballer, and 1998 World Cup champion Lilian Thuram, scored the second goal of the game. Kylian Mbappé earned three goals, including his 300th career goal. Emerging star Warren Zaïre-Emery scored a goal, although he was unfortunately injured on the play. And Kingsley Coman and Olivier Giroud both scored two goals each.
