Peter Jackson Claims That More Beatles Music ‘Is Conceivable’

This felt a bit strange to me. At the very moment when everyone - including the two surviving members of the Beatles - are stating that "Now and Then" is truly the "final" Beatles song ever, there is one high profile person who figures large in recent Beatles history who is claiming otherwise. 

Indeed, Peter Jackson - who released "Get Back" just a year and change ago, and who was instrumental in allowing "Now and Then" to be released, has suggested that it "is conceivable" that there may be some more previously unheard Beatles songs still to be released.

Now, I'm not sure about that, personally. Again, "Now and Then" is special because it truly is the final song that all four members of the "Fab Four" knowingly worked on. There are only so many songs that could possibly qualify, and obviously none that come after December of 1980, when John Lennon was assassinated. I, for one, am not a fan of the idea or possibility of having AI provide us some new creations based on what the Beatles might have sounded like, or to alter already existing pieces of different pieces of music into a new whole that was never intended to be a song, to create a sort of Frankenstein creature of Beatles music.

So I, for one, am accepting that this is, indeed, truly the "final" song that the Beatles, as such, ever release. Still, it seemed worth posting a blog entry about how Peter Jackson still feels otherwise, and that we may indeed get some "new" Beatles songs yet.
