Impractical Jokers: “The Cranjis McBasketball World Comedy Tour” Starring The Tenderloins Show Review at Prudential Center, Newark, NJ on March 20, 2019

My son and I are fans of the Impractical Jokers. We saw them a couple of years and change ago, right after Donald Trump won the election, as I recall. It was one of the few bright moments of levity during those dark times.

Well, that was at the Prudential Center in Newark, and we got to see them again at the same venue earlier this year, as well.

Admittedly, that first time was better, because it was an actual episode that aired, and so they went all out. It was a live episode, and not simply a comedy routine.

This time around was merely a comedy routine. The guys came out and did a kind of comedy routine, interrupted fairly frequently with pre-made videos. It was entertaining, don't get me wrong. But perhaps we were spoiled with that first event by these guys, because truth be told, this simply did not compare.

Now, that said, I am not saying that this was not without it's highlights. First of all, as you can see from the picture above, the balloons of these guys outside were pretty cool. Normally, I am not a fan of these oversized balloons, and feel that they are ugly and a waste of electricity. But I can make an exception for this one night, with these guys on tour. It actually was pretty cool to see, and as a fan, it felt like something that we really should make a point of taking pictures with, and so we did.

Also, there were definitely some funny moments in the show. There were points where I was laughing, and giving a comedian a chance to shine like this as an opening act was a nice touch, as well.
