Just yesterday, a new video of a previously unreleased song by Queen became public. And yes, it features singer Freddie Mercury.
It is a pretty decent song, and has already garnered millions of views on Youtube already. Obviously, this is exciting news to fans of Queen.
Having watched Bohemian Rhapsody recently with my girlfriend, and having watched it the first time on the flight back from our European trip back in August of 2019, I have actually kind of been in the mood to listen to Queen lately. For many years, a friend of mine almost ruined them for me, as he did with Billy Joel, by his constant and frankly excessive praising of them, and obviously, playing them incessantly. It has been many years, yet only now am I really beginning to appreciate both Queen and Billy Joel again, perhaps mostly because I no longer strictly view them from the lens of him trying to force it down the throats of anyone who will not fiercely resist, myself included.
Slowly but surely, however, I am getting back into Queen, appreciating them more and more, and understanding their music separate from my friend's almost propaganda-style harping of their greatness. It just did not sit well with me at the time. But their music is starting to be attractive to me once again, after all of these years.
