RIP, Lenny Lipton

Sad news to report today.

Lenny Lipton, best known for his iconic song “Puff the Magic Dragon,” died earlier this month at the age of 82. it actually happened on October 5th, although I just ran into this New York Times article from yesterday, and thought it should be shared.

Lipton used the royatlies he received from the very famous song, which he wrote based on a poem he had written back in college, in order to fund research into stereoscopic projection. It also allowed him to move to California and begin his career in 3-D films.

RIP, Lenny Lipton.
