I had watched some videos and read an article or two about Béziers, one of the towns which we visited during our recent trip to France. All of this had taught me some things which I had not been familiar with. Specifically, that Béziers has a claim to being the oldest city in France, predating even Marseille, although this is disputed.
What is not in dispute is that this is a truly beautiful little city, full of charm.
We ended up staying here for longer than any other hotel stay in a straight shot at three nights. The combination of very good price and ratings did it for me, so I booked all three nights there, instead of hunting for different hotels (which tended to be more expensive and not as highly rated) in nearby locales.
