The Entire 60 Minutes CECOT Segment That Was Censored in the US Was Released in Canada

Among the many, many disappointing institutions bowing down to the fascist power play by Donald Trump and his White House has been CBS. 

They did it again recently, censoring a whole segment o 60 Minutes.

Yet to their credit, Canadians made a point of releasing the censored segment. Not surprisingly, it has gone viral since.

Thank goodness some people are showing bravery while others, like CBS, are showing cowardice and compliance.

I know some Trump supporters who claim - and perhaps even seriously still believe - that the United States is the freest nation in the world. Not surprisingly, many of them have either never been outside of the country, or have hardly been outside of it, and with limited time and, frankly, imagination open to them nevertheless.

But this is the kind of thing which makes it obvious that our American society is not nearly so free as they try to convince us it is. Censorship used to be called out for what it is. But that requires strength, conviction, and a willingness to stand up to bullies. 

Yet, I'd be willing to be that many of these same cowards will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States in the upcoming year, and still proclaiming that it is a free country. Clearly, fascism has started to take root here, and we need more people to stand up and take back more freedom, and not do as CBS has done, and bend over backward, showing a disgusting level of cowardice and compliance to a ridiculous and obviously power-hungry administration.

Shame on CBS.
