Usually, I ignore posts about MAGA supporters being in trailer parks and such. It feels like a stereotype, and also feels like it's low lying fruit, picking on people's misfortunes.
Yet, given all that is happening in the country these days, with everything growing more expensive and life becoming less affordable for the vast majority of us. Meanwhile, a tone deaf President Trump literally adds gilded gold all over the White House and desecrates and destroys a huge part of it in order to pace over the Rose Garden and build his huge and, frankly, tacky ballroom. He tries to add that gold leaf when he talks about his accomplishments and how well the economy is allegedly doing, and how the price of everything has gone down so enormously because he is now in the Oval Office. Yet the reality, of course, is that the cost of everything is greater
So this feels like it has an element of the truth to it. His most loyal supporters - his base, really - seems to be people struggling. By no means rich. Yet, they elected a man who show no indication that he can relate to, or even really cares much about, their plight. Trump is and always has been all about Donald Trump.
They conveniently ignore all of the signs that this man is a terrible president, and that he is only about himself and his wealthy friends and political allies. That also happens to be precisely the reason why Trump remains in power, because they scrutinize absolutely nothing about the guy and his presidency.
What a farce.
What a stupid era we live in right now.
