LA Rams (11-3) at Seattle Seahawks (11-3)
This one is exciting!
With three of the best teams in the league in this one NFC West division, you kind of have to figure that the winner of the division probably has some real advantages once the playoffs roll around.
And this game might be the most important game remaining which could help decide which teams wins the wild, wild NFC West.
Of course, there will be plenty of football left to be played even after the dust settles following this game.
Still, if the Rams can manage a win, they will be in excellent position to take the NFC West title. With two winnable games remaining, at Atlanta and then hosting the Cardinals. So should Los Angeles manage to win this contest, you have to figure that there is an excellent chance of them clinching the NFC West and, most likely, also the top overall seed in the NFC for the playoffs.
However, the Seahawks are not likely to make it easy on the Rams. Obviously, they are a tough team, and playing in extremely loud Seattle can be a daunting prospect. They have an excellent defense, probably the best in the NFC. And they played the Rams tough in the first game in Los Angeles, losing by only a couple of points. So they should have confidence going into this one.
Yet if the Seahawks are the ones who emerge victorious, it feels like the matter of who wins the NFC West would not be settled. They still would have go play the 49ers in San Francisco, having lost the first meeting in Seattle. That game might possibly then decide the NFC West. Nor would it be a lock that the winner of this division would necessarily earn the top seed in the NFC.
So that makes this an interesting game. A lot riding on this one.
Honestly, it could go either way. Scenarios where the Rams come out on top are easy to envision. Yet, it is also relatively easy to picture the Seahawks taking advantage of playing at home and beating the Rams. Figure this one should be tight throughout.
In the end, I suspect home field does have it's advantages, however.
My pick: Seattle
