Thursday Night Football: Dallas Cowboys (6-5-1) at Detroit Lions (7-5)
The battle between the two Thanksgiving teams a week after their big holiday.
This game is difficult to make a pick for. On the one hand, the Lions have home field advantage. On the other, the Cowboys appear to be hot and with a ton of momentum, after two consecutive, huge wins against the two Super Bowl teams from last season.
It could go either way. The 'Boys are not so hot that they should be the automatic pick. Also, they are tough when they play in Big D, with a 4-1 home record. But they are a rather dismal 2-4 when playing away from home. That means that this being a road game could prove to be a liability.
Yet the Lions also feel far more vulnerable than they appeared to be last year. So that makes this one tough. They too are tough at home, at 4-2. Yet the Packers clearly showed last weekend that the Lions can lose at home in the Motor City. And again, the Cowboys enter this one with quite a bit of momentum and swagger.
Dallas has one of the most dangerous offenses in the league. And I suspect that the Lions might prove vulnerable to that. Perhaps I am looking too closely at the momentum that they have built in recent weeks, but Big D looks like a team on a mission. So my pick will be with the road team for this one.
My pick: Dallas
